Extraordinary online weddings: Real ways to celebrate your wedding online
Independent wedding celebrants are now offering to officiate ceremonies remotely online or to live stream your actual wedding direct from the altar.
Marking your nearly-wed date by Zoom
Is your nearly-wed date approaching?
With the build up to planning for a particular date, marking it with a Zoom room full of friends and family to toast everyone’s good health and the promise of your rescheduled wedding, will allow you to get excited all over again.
Real elopement ceremony that grew online
Debbie Skyrme is a bilingual celebrant in Spain, specialising in online ceremonies. One Spanish beach elopement was cancelled in favour of an intimate ceremony on the couple’s back porch in Kentucky with Debbie officiating in Spain.
The guest list grew until there were 70 screens full of well-wishers who otherwise would have missed out on the couple’s bespoke elopement blessing. The whole event was captured by specialist styled online photography specialist Lara Onac.
Real internet vow renewal serenaded by celebrity
Renewing their vows after 25 years together should have seen a North Carolina couple holding hands on a rooftop in Seville. Instead Debbie arranged an online vow renewal for them in their own home attended by about 70 family and friends in the Zoom ceremony room with one very special surprise guest.
The bride had organised a cameo video by American actor and singer Chris Sullivan to play acoustic guitar and serenade their first dance in front of all of their witnesses.
Debbie even rehearsed with the couple’s sons to help her carry out a handfasting ritual for the bride and groom to quite literally retie the knot!
Traditional weddings live streamed to guests’ homes
Nowadays, many guests are unable or unwilling to travel to wedding ceremonies, there may be restrictions on guest numbers, or wedding budgets simply don’t stretch to a long guest list. So, tech savvy grooms and brides are realising the benefits of live streaming their wedding direct from the altar so-to-speak.
Specialist videographers like Gary Tapp, offer streaming packages enabling your wedding ceremony to be watched in real-time and beamed straight into the home of every single one of your invited guests.
The live-streamed altar-cam means your guests have the absolute best seat in the house to see every single happy tear and catch every word of your personal vows to each other.
After the ceremony, the remote guests can interact with the wedding party and even record their best wishes for the couple – or live stream a speech. A wonderful memory of a truly modern wedding.
