Extraordinary Real Wedding: Kristi & Dave's Wedding "On top of the World"

Wow, what can I say?

This has to be one of the most breathtaking weddings I've covered so far, quite literally "On top of the World"... a line from The Carpenters might capture it a little more succinctly for this beautiful couple  ... "I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation and the only explanation I can find, is the love that I've found ever since you've been around, your love's put me at the top of the world"

If ever there was a wedding that captured the true personality of a couple, then this would be it. I'm literally in awe of the backdrop of this stunning wedding setting.

Kristi and Dave's wedding took place in July at the Wayah Bald Tower,Tipton, North Carolina, USA. When I asked her if they had a theme to their wedding, her answer was very simple:

"Just two people who love each other and the mountains."

Talking a little more with Kristi she tells me:

"I am a freelance visual artist and muralist. Dave works as a bartender at a brewery. We've been together 9 years and got engaged last July. We met while I was singing karaoke and he ran up to steal my microphone and we were together just weeks later. We live in Orlando, Florida.

When planning our wedding, our number one priority was a mountain view. We come to the mountains very often and felt like it was just "us".  When we found Wayah Bald Tower on google and saw the photos, we instantly knew that was the place. And it was free to get married there because it's public property on the Appalachian trail - which we hope to hike the entirety of one day.

We wanted simple, easy and intimate. I've been to a lot of weddings that were planned meticulously, stressful and went by so quickly because of all the rushing around. We are very non traditional and wanted something much more relaxing and easy going.

We chose a short ceremony at Wayah and then dinner in downtown Franklin with our small group of family and friends. It was less expensive than a venue and catering and so much more fun. We got to enjoy the day and spend quality time with each other and our guests. It was truly a fairy tale".

The hardest part about writing this blog was choosing from the many amazing photos, I feel truly inspired by this couple's amazing day, with the biggest natural backdrop of pure stunning beauty one could even imagine!
