If you've ever considered a beach wedding, then Karen and Gareth's Greek island wedding will certainly give you a taste of paradise. The idyllic setting of Cameo Island, Zakynthos, with its crystal blue water and stunning out look is a dream come true when it comes to the ultimate beach wedding.
Speaking with Karen she tells me:
"I’m an older bride (45) and Gareth is my toy boy (40) lol! We met one weekend in 2016 and literally have never been apart since, by June 2018 we were married. I have a 14 year old, Evan and Gareth has an 18 year old Jordanne.
We choose the Cameo Island as it’s a beautiful cove in Zakynthos. I really wanted to marry on a beach near the sea (I don’t know whether this is because I’m a Pisces ) with all our family and close friends.
We chose light pinks, its quite a romantic soft colour and just went with our venue.
The groom, the best man and ushers arrived at the island by speedboat to the WWE entrance song for “The Rock”
We then arrived at our reception venue, the Balcony Boutique Hotel by Horse and Carriage.
We decided to go with Wedding Planners – “Zante Weddings” Frances and her team were amazing, everything went to plan wonderfully.. well apart from the weather!
We decided on getting married abroad because you’re normally guaranteed beautiful weather… the day was slightly overcast but warm by the night time we had thunderstorms and the electricity went out, to be honest it added to our theme, when all the candelabras were lit it was so romantic and as our venue was the Balcony Boutique Hotel for our reception it’s a quaint little hotel on a clifftop overlooking the ocean in Tsivili – the view was breathtaking especially watching the thunderstorms over the sea.
I can safely say it was one of the best days of our lives and wish we could do it all over again".
The songs we chose for our wedding:
Christina Perry – A Thousand Years – to walk down the aisle to.
AC/DC – Highway to Hell – to exit to .. everyone laughed! It suits me because I’m an 80s rock chick
Then first dance – Don’t stop believing – Journey
