I have to say that I love a day out in York. It's one of those places I never grow tried of visiting, from the magnificent York Minster to the cobbled streets of The Shambles, it really is the most idyllic place for a wedding. I'm sure this real wedding feature, will make you too, fall in love with this stunning backdrop to Rachel and Grant's big day.
Speaking with Rachel I discover that she and Grant were childhood sweethearts:
Grant and myself have been together since being 16. We are best friends and have the best relationship. We are always laughing and have built something really special together. We have 2 gorgeous children together Sophia and Noah , also I couldn't forget to mention our cat Binx. Grant is a semiprofessional footballer and I work for the Ministry of Justice.
On New Years Eve 2016 Grant took me to York for the night. He proposed in this little restaurant beside
the Minster with a beautiful 1940’s vintage ring. Of course I said yes right away! After we gathered outside the minster and counted down the New Year. I knew then that I would love to get married in York too!
We chose the Grange hotel as the decor and everything about it was very quirky but classic. Plus I wanted a very small wedding. We only had 36 guests in total and the Grange was just perfect for our intimate wedding. The registry office was literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel and in a beautiful Grade 2 listed building so it made sense for the ceremony to be there. The colours; rose gold and blush pink are just my favourite and I loved how they complemented each other perfectly.
