I'm a sucker for a love story and have had a deep fondness for the so called "city of love" since watching the film Gigi as a child . I've visited Paris over the years and really do feel the spirit of romance in the air every time.
So when I heard about this particular themed wedding , I felt it had all the trappings of a true fairy tale. I mean who wouldn't say a marriage proposal at the top of the Eiffel Tower was taking the "I do" to a whole new level of the dizzy heights of true romance?
Well that's just what happened for one very lucky lady, Clare Finan, so it's really no surprise that Paris was the theme for her Spring Wedding to Rob earlier this year.
Speaking with Clare she tells me:
"Rob and I met 6 years ago after meeting online. We're total opposites but work well together! We got engaged on top of the Eiffel Tower, which was a complete shock for me. Once I stopped crying, I finally said YES! We chose the wedding date as our 6 year anniversary was the next day.
We're not traditional, fancy food kind of people. Simple, add no fuss is more our style. We chose the Spinnaker because it's different and the views of Portsmouth from 100m up are spectacular. ( I can spot a little bit of a theme for a love of dizzy heights can't you?)
We then had BBQ food for our meal, which everyone loved and still talks about today. We chose a Paris Theme because of how our engagement had happened. I was very much a DIY bride and did as much as I could to make our wedding personal to us. This included our invites, table decorations and even our wedding cake and sweet bar".
