Have you ever dreamed of a beach side wedding? The romantic sound of the ebb and flow of the tide, as the waves gently caress the shoreline? Walking along golden sands, hand in hand with the one you love on the most special day of your life?
You might think that such a setting can only be found miles from home, on distant shores and planning such an event would take several months, if not years.
It may surprise you that you don't have to travel too far to find this idyllic setting,or that it need take months to arrange, as I found out when I talked to Hollie; a support worker for adults with learning difficulties, who recently married her sweetheart Jamie; a lift engineer, on the 23rd September.
Hollie tells me:
"Jamie and I met back in April 2010, through facebook, although our path's had crossed when we were younger. We moved in to our house together three and half years ago and then the love of our life; our gorgeous daughter Georgia, arrived a year ago.
It was at Jamie's 30th birthday party that he proposed in front of all of our family and friends. It was such a lovely surprise.
We only decided in June this year to set the date for our wedding in September!
We chose to get married at The Stables, Groomsport, (Northern Ireland) because its somewhere we enjoy spending time, it's in a local village to us and is close to the beach, which we thought would make such a beautiful back drop to our photographs.... Oh and did I mention they serve the best food!
We didn't really have a theme for our wedding as such, but I knew I wanted pink as a colour scheme, as it's my favourite colour.
I think some people thought we were mad planning a wedding in such a short time. Thankfully everything just fell into place. Jamie really just let me get on with it, he didn't have to plan a thing!
Luckily , every supplier we approached was available for the date.I had an absolute ball planning everything, and believe it or not I didn't find it one bit stressful. I think that was partly down to the fact I didn't have time to become too fussy!"
It just goes to prove that when you put your mind to it and follow your heart, anything is possible.
It really does all just come together on the day. It need not take years, or traveling to the other side of the World to achieve your dream day.
