Extraordinary real wedding: A belle bride by the waters edge....

When I stumbled across Samantha Lees-Wydra's wedding photo's on a social media wedding group, I couldn't wait to speak to her about sharing her extraordinary real wedding with you all.

She really was the "Belle of the ball" so to speak, in her stunning "Thea" floral inspired gown from Berketex Bride. .... but read on...... Samantha isn't the only "Belle" to feature in this fairytale day!

Samantha and Jonathan had a stunningly beautiful day to share with their family and friends, in the middle of Rutland water no less.... don't worry no life jackets were required at this wonderful waterside location. Although the guests did experience some unusual transportation to the ceremony, more about that a little later!

Samantha tells me, "I am a science teacher (currently stay home mum) and Johnny works as a production engineer. We met at the gym in 2012 but had previously lived and grew up in the same town, went to the same school, knew loads of mutual friends but never actually met each other until the moment we believe we were destined to".

She continues" We chose our ceremony venue Normanton Church Museum, Rutland Water, because we had one of our very first dates there, and as a family we've spent many happy hours there, so it's very close to all of our hearts, we always feel a sense of peace there."

"Our reception was held closer to home at Melton Golf Club which is also a beautiful setting and very accommodating, nothing too much trouble and it provided a lovely relaxed and intimate atmosphere."

If you're a landlubber, probably best you look away for the next part... Samantha and Jonathan decided to treat their guests with some rather unique transportation to this very special venue, with a ride upon the "Rutland Belle"... Personally I love this idea, my hubby would probably go a slight green colour at the thought in all honesty ( he doesn't do boat's too well) It seemed to be a real hit for this wedding party however, adults and children alike loved the experience.

Samantha shared with me "We chose to have the Rutland Belle bring the groomsmen and guests across from Whitwell harbour, whilst myself and the bridal party arrived in Rita from Cool campers and waited in the church so I could enter from the back without being seen, as we married at the front of the church in the beautiful dome."

"Two feathers" provided the musical accompaniment for both the ceremony and reception and Samantha tells me they were a fantastic choice adding to the ambience of the day, she also give praise to their photographer Emma Wenham photography," She was the extremely talented , non intrusive and professional throughout and got amazing shots, both candid and traditional and never interrupted the flow of the day " .

The couple shared a tipple of champagne aboard the Rutland Belle with their guests following the ceremony, before heading on to their reception at Melton Golf Club.

Samantha and Jonathan decided on a late afternoon wedding in June, choosing a more relaxed approach with a BBQ hog roast and cold salad for their 100 guests.

Samantha tells me, "We had a chocolate fountains for dessert, alongside a gorgeous cake provided by wild fig catering, we also provided a sweet table. We had face painting provided by Phoenix Facepaints for the children's entertainment and a DJ sourced by the golf club who played well into the night for us. We had an amazing day and would not change a thing."

Samantha adds " My beautiful dress is actually for sale for anyone interested contact me directly, I choose this dress as it is a reflection of me and my personality and gives a real modern twist to the traditional dress a beautiful head turner that really stood out from the crowd."
